Boost the Nutritional and Medicinal Powder of Your Smoothie!

Smoothies are a simple way to improve nutritional intake, balance blood sugar and a great vehicle for medicinal herbs and super foods to address health concerns such as stress and low energy. I generally recommend smoothies as a breakfast option, but they can also be enjoyed at any time of the day.

 Basic High Nutrient Smoothie Recipe

1 serving of protein powder (either vegan or whey)
½ cup of frozen berries
¼ – ½ avocado
½ banana
½ cup of spinach
1-2 tbls of flax seed or chia/salba seed or 1 tbls of each
Water
Blend using a hand blender or a traditional blender

SUMMER SKIN RECOVERY – Five Nutrients That Promise Protection and Recovery

How does skin damage happen? Free radical generation occurs when the skin is exposed to ultraviolet light from sun exposure.   Free radicals stimulate inflammation and deplete intracellular anti-oxidants, such as vitamin C.
